A quick Google search will tell you the best heel height for your wedding day is 2.5 inches (or a little over 6cm), but like you we wonder if that's really the right size for all of us. Does one size really fit all? We think heel height is purely a personal preference based not just on what you're used to, but also the height of you and your fiancé.
The most common heel heights (demonstrated in their most complimentary styles) are:
1 - 2.5 inches
This heel height (often seen on block and kitten heels) is ideal for tall brides and brides not very confident walking in heels.
3 - 4.5 inches
The most classic height of heel heights, and arguably the safest choice for brides.
5 + inches
Heels with a 5 inch heel and above are only recommended for brides who regularly wear heels of this height. For short brides looking to add a lot of height on their wedding day, consider a platform to lessen the pressure.
If you plan on dancing the night away, you'll want to be comfortable on your feet. As you can imagine, the lower the heel the comfier you'll be. If you have your heart set on a stiletto heel for walking down the aisle in, you might consider a change of shoes for your reception... Another factor to consider when deciding on the perfect heel height for your wedding day is the terrain you'll be walking on. Will you be on a soft surface like sand or grass, or a hard wooden floor? If it's the former, a low heel (2.5 inches and smaller) is likely to work best.
